Your eBay Shop is a great way of
new/inexperienced eBay eBook sellers to take your business to
the next level. It is relatively inexpensive at just £4.99 per
month for UK eBayers, and $15.99 per month for USA eBayers, with
the first month FREE. You can also unsubscribe at any time,
should you wish.
The
reason that you need an eBay Shop is simple. It allows you to
"appear" as a bigger eBook seller, thus giving
your customers more choice - and perceived "trust", and will
sway their decision to buy from you, as opposed to a seller in
competition with you - who does not have an eBay Shop. This rings
especially true if you have relatively low eBay feedback. As soon
as you open your eBay Shop, watch your eBay feedback
soar.
It takes literally
minutes to open an eBay shop, and you need no technical know-how,
simply use eBay's help feature and type in "eBay Store/Shop". You
can then follow the on screen prompts from eBay until your Shop is
created.
You can also design
your shop for maximum professionalism using eBay's templates. You
have a choice of different shop layouts, and colours to choose
from, and these templates can allow you to portray the image of
your Shop effectively to your customers.
You can set up
item categories, to ensure your customer can find the eBook
they want, as a customer who cannot - will simply buy elsewhere and
you'll lose out on a sale. These eBook categories can ALSO help
your eBay shop appear in the search engine results, thus driving
more "off eBay traffic" to your eBay shop - so make sure you are
descriptive in naming your categories correctly.
Using eBay's
"promotion boxes" feature within the "manage my shop" eBay
Selling Manager Pro, you can
even highlight items in boxes located oin different areas of
your Shop. This is very good for making special offers to your
customers, or informing them of a new eBook you have for sale.

MAXIMUM exposure to buyers, and also any new eBooks I have
written.

You will
notice in my Shop, I also use "branding"
techniques. What are branding techniques you ask?
Branding
techniques are simply means for customers/users of eBay to
be able to identify your store from the thousands of
others. Basically any business, big or small - has an identity or a
logo to which it is associated. It is the image of your business so
look after it, and try to initially THINK about how you want your
business to be perceived by your customers!
If you want to be
known for quality eBooks, or instant delivery of goods to buyers,
or fantastic customer service - your branding should be built
around this foundation. This is often called your business USP or
"unique selling
point".
As I am an
experienced internet marketer, my USP is built around my automated
eBook Business guide entitled "Build Your eBay Empire" but
in the old days :) when I first started selling eBooks my USP was
built around the fact that I offered INSTANT customer service
guaranteed.
(This statement was
100% true, but this was achieved using a simple email autoresponder
system!)
As long as my
customers actually received this service they were happy, and
re-visited my eBay Shop repeatedly. So my credibilty grew, over
time and I became Google's No.1 eBook Business Guide
Author!
This will happen for
you too - so start off professionally and never
refrain from this fact. The more time you are involved in the
business - the more respected you will become. Just deliver on your
promises to your customers. That is the key to maintaining your
USP. You do not necessarily
need to big a big seller on eBay, but you seriously MUST consider
giving your eBay Shop an identity, as over time your Shop will
become recogniseable, and you will automatically have people
actively searching for you, word of mouth business will grow, over time. This is a direct
result of branding use.
